Abstract: This article reconstructs the Rostov period in the biography of Vladimir Ryndziun (1897–1953), who is better known as «A. Vetlugin», one of the most popular writers in the Russian Berlin. The author establishes and shows how Ryndziun altered and transformed his biographical circumstances in his writings. Ryndziun’s survey «Russian Poetry in 1916» reprinted here with the commentary, demonstrates his view of the Russian modernist poetry in the time of the Great War.
