Abstract: The article deals with the captivity motif which is forming the plot with large thematic diversity. The Caucasian prisoner is represented in Russian Literature in romantic poems, narratives, novels, stories. Thematic unity, the same topos and captivity motives show style and art variety in fiction, non-fiction and popular Russian Literature, connected with Caucasian War.
