Abstract: Article considers G. Ivanov's lyrics - the outstanding poet of the first wave of the Russian emigration – in a context of a problem of the double. The special attention is paid to post-war collections of the poet with their through motive of a specular reflection and dispersion. The subject of bifurcation designated by the poet fits into a cultural and historical paradigm where the double – the symbol of the dark beginning – is a sign ofdestruction of integrity, internal ethic and ontologic unity of the subject. Meanwhile Georgy Ivanov stands at the origins of radical updating of a double discourse in the Russian literature.
