Abstract: The article examines two literary journeys written in 1833: «The Fantastic Journey of Baron Bambeus» by O. I. Senkovsky and «The Journey of the Noble Translator Poletaev» in Russia by A. F. Voyeykov. The author of the article studies the representativeness of journey as a literary genre, the general particularity of the genre of journey, and the controversial difference of the motive trends by the two writers-and-journalists.
